Pam Fox, President
Dear Friends,
We hope you enjoyed exploring this revised
website. We continue to add content, and we welcome your suggestions. Children (and adults) may
have fun exploring the children’s section created by talented students at the Boston University
Center for Digital Imaging Arts.
The year 2013 will mark a milestone in Weston history-- the 300th anniversary of the town’s
incorporation. It will also be the 50th anniversary of the Weston Historical Society, which grew
out of the 250th celebration. The historical society has two representatives on the Weston300
Committee, Elizabeth Eaton and Pam Fox. The committee was formed by the Selectmen to begin
planning, and we hope all town organizations will participate in some way. The historical society
stands ready to provide the historical resources needed to make this an educational as well as a
festive and fun-filled year.
The Weston Historical Society is currently located in the Josiah Smith Tavern. We urge town
residents to stay informed and participate in discussions about the future of both the tavern and
old library, both of which need major repairs to bring them up to code. The outcome of this
process will determine the future of the society in its next half century and beyond.
Please consider joining the Weston Historical Society. We would not exist without the financial
support of our members. We invite you to come by the Josiah Smith Tavern on Wednesday mornings to
view the collections or research a topic of interest. Volunteers are always needed.
We can find a useful and interesting task to suit everyone’s talents and time constraints.
Please do not hesitate to call me at 781-893-3093 if you have questions or would like to make an
appointment.
Sincerely,
Pam Fox
